Haas retains Hulkenberg and Magnussen for 2024 season

According to team principal Guenther Steiner, the Haas Formula 1 team will retain Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen as their drivers for the 2024 season. The decision was based on their solid performance and valuable feedback during the challenging 2023 season. Stroll misses Dutch GP media day due to illness

Aston Martin's Lance Stroll is absent at Zandvoort's media day before the Dutch Grand Prix due to illness, missing out on preparation. Verstappen eyes third consecutive home win

Max Verstappen has won both Dutch Grand Prix races at his home circuit in the modern era, claiming pole position and clean sweeps of victory. With his dominant season, another home victory seems likely. Windy conditions near the coastline could add unpredictability to qualifying battles, and changes in car regulations might impact top drivers' performance. Besides Verstappen, McLaren is a strong contender for podium places due to the track's characteristics favoring their setup. The race has seen limited overtaking, emphasizing the significance of grid positions. The top four teams have consistently dominated points-scoring positions, leaving few spots for others, with Alpine and Williams potentially making an impact.

Dialogue underway to ease Dutch GP protest concerns

Tensions persist among taxi drivers, Zandvoort organizers, and local authorities during the Dutch Grand Prix weekend. Disagreements arise as Haarlem taxi drivers protest restricted access to the circuit, stemming from permit disputes. The municipality of Zandvoort refuses new permits due to suspicions of illegal acquisition, although an alternative method involving parking permits has surfaced, triggering outrage among taxi drivers. Talks continue between Haarlem taxi drivers and Zandvoort officials, aiming for a resolution before the race weekend to avert potential disruption, but a blockade remains a possibility if no agreement is reached by Friday.
