RedBird Capital Partners, an investment firm based in New York, is closing in on acquiring a stake in a Formula One team. The firm, which already owns 11% of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG), is now targeting a minority shareholding in the Renault-owned Alpine Formula One team. RedBird has been actively involved in sports investments, acquiring control of AC Milan, the XFL professional football league, and stakes in various sports teams, including the Rajasthan Royals cricket team. The potential acquisition of a stake in Alpine would help RedBird expand its presence in the sports market and contribute to the growth of Alpine's F1 business, media rights, and content creation.

Hamda Al Qubaisi of MP Motorsport dominated the F1 Academy qualifying sessions at Zandvoort, setting the fastest time in Q1 and Q2. In Q1, she outpaced her sister Amna and teammate Lena Buhler, while in Q2, she narrowly claimed pole position ahead of Buhler. The top six drivers were all within 0.925 seconds of each other. Abbi Pulling finished in 11th place.

Four global motorsports competitors, Max Verstappen (Formula 1), Kyle Larson (NASCAR), Josef Newgarden (IndyCar), and Brittany Force (NHRA), have been nominated for the Best Driver award at the ESPYS.
