De Vries rescued amid flooding

F1 driver Nyck de Vries was stranded in Imola due to flooding, unable to reach his hotel for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. He was given a room by a McLaren front jack and shared images of mudslides and debris blocking roads. The race was canceled due to the flood risk from the Santerno River. De Vries later returned home and expressed concern for those affected by the disaster.

Ferrari upgrades delayed until Spain

Ferrari had planned to introduce a new rear suspension at the Imola race, but the inclement weather forecast prompted them to delay the upgrade beforehand. The cancellation of the race made the delay irrelevant. Ferrari's next upgrade package is now scheduled for the Spanish Grand Prix in June. They had made changes to their floor and diffuser in Miami and were among several teams considering major upgrades for Imola. Ferrari's focus on car performance is on aerodynamics, and team boss Fred Vasseur emphasized the need for improvements across the entire car.

The unstoppable Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen's ability to outshine his teammates has been evident, with Gasly, Kyvat, Albon, and Ricciardo all eventually leaving the team. As the driver to beat in the championship, Verstappen faces a tough challenge from Perez. However, his recent triumph in Miami, where he impressively recovered from ninth on the grid to claim victory, cements his status as a force to be reckoned with. Verstappen's remarkable performance suggests that he may indeed be unstoppable in his pursuit of the championship title.

Imola ticket holders to get full refund

Organizers of the canceled Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola have announced that Formula 1 fans who purchased tickets will receive a full refund. The decision to cancel the event was made due to severe flooding caused by unprecedented rainfall in the region. Ticket holders can choose to claim a refund or convert their tickets to the 2023 race. The refund process will be communicated via email in the coming days. The race promoters in Imola will not have to pay the agreed fee to Formula One Management (FOM) due to force majeure. The 2023 edition is likely to be moved to 2026 under the contract extension.
