Haas reverses upgrade on Hulkenberg's car

Haas is retracting its latest F1 upgrade from Nico Hulkenberg's car for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix due to the team's disappointing results following the introduction of their most significant in-season upgrade in Austin. The drivers' feedback on the upgrade was lukewarm, resulting in the team's failure to secure any points in the first three races with the new package, dropping them to last place in the constructors' championship. While initially hoping for better performance with more track time, Haas has opted to run their cars in different specifications after observing divergent preferences between Hulkenberg and his teammate, Kevin Magnussen. The decision aims to maximize their chances in the last two races and is primarily driven by each driver's preference for the older or newer car specifications.

FIA moves to overhaul review process

The FIA plans to tighten the process for Formula 1 teams to request a right of review. They'll reduce the time window from 14 days to 96 hours after an event, introducing a fee that'll only be refunded if the review is accepted. The recent Haas case prompted these changes, as an increase in review requests led the FIA to reconsider the system. These alterations, pending approval at the Annual General Assembly, extend beyond F1 to all FIA competitions, aiming to prevent the exploitation of the appeal process and its associated penalties.
