Today's F1 News Delivered Faster Than a Pit Stop
Sergio Perez had a disastrous Japanese Grand Prix, facing incidents, two retirements, and multiple penalties. He collided with Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz at Turn 1, received a Safety Car penalty, and later collided with Kevin Magnussen. He retired on Lap 15 due to possible damage. Then, to avoid carrying over a penalty Perez 'un-retired' later in the race at +26 laps behind teammate Max Verstappen and the rest of the grid. He expressed disappointment despite Red Bull winning the Constructors' Championship.

Logan Sargeant received a time penalty before the Japanese Grand Prix because Williams built a spare chassis beyond the allowed level, which was considered a third car. FIA rules prevent teams from having three ready-to-go cars. Although it's unclear exactly how much work was done, it exceeded the defined assembly level for a chassis. Williams had to start from the pits due to this breach, and they also received a 10-second penalty.

The Japanese Grand Prix was quite eventful and will be remembered as a standout on the F1 calendar. One of the highlights was when Mercedes treated a devoted fan to a hot lap around Suzuka with Mick Schumacher. The female fan was visibly excited to meet the Mercedes reserve driver and obviously had a great ride.
AlphaTauri has confirmed Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo as its drivers for 2024, leaning Liam Lawson on the sidelines as Red Bull and AlphaTauri’s reserve driver. Despite Lawson's impressive debut and securing his first point with a P9 finish in Singapore, the decision to choose the other two drivers over him is intriguing.
