F1 commission set to convene to discuss points system overhaul

FIA TRUCK

The F1 Commission will meet to discuss a proposed revamp of the points system, which could see points awarded to the top 12 finishers instead of the current top 10. Concerns have been raised about the dominance of the top five teams, which has made it difficult for the bottom five to score points. If the proposed changes were in place for the 2024 season, it would significantly alter standings, with Haas projected to gain 17 points and RB 10, among others. Any decision made by the Commission would need approval from the World Motor Sport Council before implementation in the 2025 season.

This deal surpasses Red Bull's Oracle sponsorship and extends to Ferrari's F1 Academy and esports programs.

Carlos Sainz faces uncertainty despite his success at Ferrari, with no seat for 2025 due to unexpected driver movements. He's vying for positions at Red Bull and Mercedes but isn't their first choice. Audi offers a fallback, though it's not ideal. Sainz remains focused on performance, hoping to secure a competitive drive while acknowledging the unpredictability of F1's landscape.

Ferrari revives Azzurro Blue for Miami GP

Ferrari may be synonymous with the color red, but it is often forgotten that for many years, their drivers and mechanics were clothed in blue, and, on rare occasions, their cars even raced in blue. During a visit to the Maranello factory, Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz got blue race suits from Ferrari's Chief Design Officer, Flavio Manzoni.
