Max Verstappen dominated the Japanese Grand Prix, leading a Red Bull 1-2 finish after surviving two standing starts, with Sergio Perez in second and Carlos Sainz in third. The race saw a mix of tire strategies, with some opting for Softs and others for Mediums and Hards. Verstappen's flawless performance secured his third successive win at Suzuka, while incidents like Daniel Ricciardo and Alexander Albon's crash brought out the first red flag of 2024.

Hamilton storms out of post-race interview

Lewis Hamilton walked out of a post-race interview at the Japanese Grand Prix after being asked if he was envious of Ferrari's strong race pace. Starting in seventh, Hamilton and teammate George Russell switched to hard tires early due to a red flag. Mercedes' one-stop strategy failed due to poor race pace, prompting Hamilton to consider letting Russell pass and later demanding a strategy change. Both drivers eventually switched to a two-stop strategy, with Hamilton finishing seventh and Russell ninth.

Albon worried over Williams car damage

Alex Albon had worries about his Williams car's condition before colliding with Daniel Ricciardo in the Japanese GP, fearing more damage they couldn't handle. Despite both drivers being okay, the crash caused anxiety for Albon, as he recalled a previous incident in Australia where his car was badly damaged. Post-race inspection showed serious damage to the chassis, worsening Williams' situation without a spare.
