The 2023 Italian Grand Prix was a race with many exciting moments. Yuki Tsunoda's race was over before it even started after an engine failure on the formation lap. Carlos Sainz started the race on pole and held on to the lead for fourteen laps before Max Verstappen claimed that position. The hot track temperatures created lots of tyre degradation that the teams and drivers had to manage. Contact on lap 42 between Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri took Piastri out of the points. Alex Albon kept both the McLarens behind him to come home in 7th position. This circuit proved to be difficult for both of the Haas drivers as they claimed 17th and 18th position. To the Tifosi's dismay, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc weren't able to turn their terrific qualifying result into a race win. Max Verstappen took the victory in Monza with his teammate Sergio Perez coming home in 2nd for a Red Bull Racing 1-2.
