Q1 saw the elimination of both McLaren drivers, with Lando Norris finishing the session in 16th and Oscar Piastri finishing in 19th. Many drivers had their lap times deleted which increased the difficulty of this qualifying session. Yuki Tsunoda really struggled, only being able to put his Alpha Tauri in 20th. Guanyu Zhou put his Alfa Romeo in 18th, right behind the Alpine of Esteban Ocon.
Q2 brought lots of excitement for the fans. Daniel Ricciardo was only able to put his Alpha Tauri in 15th position, just behind the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll. Nico Hülkenberg qualified behind his teammate, to finish in 13th. Sergio Perez and Red Bull may have misjudged the track and his time by bringing him in too early. Perez ended up being knocked out of Q3 to qualify in 12th. Lewis Hamilton narrowly missed out on the top ten, putting his Mercedes in 11th.
Q3 saw many changes to the order throughout the entire session. Fernando Alonso seemed to struggle slightly, and was only able to put his Aston Martin in 10th, just ahead of the Haas of Kevin Magnussen. Valtteri Bottas had a great qualifying session for Alfa Romeo, putting his car in 8th. Both the Williams drivers also had a very successful qualifying with Alex Albon putting his car in 6th and Logan Sargeant qualifying in 7th. Pierre Gasly placed his Alpine just ahead of the two Williams drivers, narrowly finishing the session behind George Russell. Max Verstappen claimed the third position on the grid, following a Ferrari front row lockout with Charles Leclerc claiming pole.
