Max Verstappen topped the session with Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc following closely behind. Valtteri Bottas made a surprise appearance near the front, putting his Alfa Romeo in 4th. Daniel Ricciardo had a better Free Practice 2 in comparison to the first session, putting his AlphaTauri in 6th. The Mercedes seemed to struggle with Lewis Hamilton putting his Mercedes in 7th ahead of his teammate George Russell who came in 10th. Carlos Sainz didn't have the most successful FP2, only being able to put his Ferrari in 11th. The Aston Martins had another difficult session with Fernando Alonso coming in 20th and Lance Stroll finishing practice in 18th.
