Be prepared by checking the Shanghai International Circuit bag policy, prohibited items, and essential race day gear for every F1 fan.

It’s already round 2 of the 2026 Formula 1 season and we’re headed back to the iconic Shanghai International Circuit (SIC). The SIC is one of the most technical tracks on the calendar, making it challenging for the drivers and teams but providing incredible on track action for the fans.

To ensure every fan has a safe and seamless experience at the Chinese Grand Prix, all attendees must follow the circuit regulations. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned veteran, here is your essential checklist for race weekend.

Entry & Security

Security at the Chinese Grand Prix is thorough and high-tech. In comparison to some of the other races on the calendar, it can definitely feel more heavy-handed, but keep in mind that it is all meant to provide a safe sporting environment for the fans, drivers, teams, and everyone else involved. To ensure a smooth entry at the gates, please be prepared with the following:

Passport Required:

Digital & Physical Backups

  • We highly recommend having a printed backup and a copy of your passport.

Rain or shine:

  • Pack a high-quality poncho for rain and a lightweight jacket.
  • If you are in General Admission (Zones J, L, or F), bring something waterproof to sit on, as you will be on grass.

Payment Apps:

  • Shanghai is almost entirely cashless.
  • Ensure you have Alipay or WeChat Pay set up and linked to your international card before arriving at the track.

  • A portable power bank is essential.
  • Note that local mobile networks can be strained; we recommend downloading the circuit map for offline use.
