Porsche abandons F1 for Formula E

Porsche has announced that it will focus exclusively on Formula E and will no longer pursue plans to enter Formula 1 due to difficulties in finding a suitable partner team. The company sees Formula E as the future of mobility solutions and has already achieved success in the series with four wins. With all resources directed towards Formula E, the entry into Formula 1 in 2026 has been abandoned. Porsche had sought a stake in partner teams, but negotiations with Red Bull, Williams, McLaren, and Aston Martin did not yield positive results, leading to their decision to prioritize Formula E.

Why Red Bull's RB19 can't match McLaren's MP4/4 

Red Bull's RB19 secured its 12th consecutive F1 victory in Hungary, breaking McLaren's previous record set in 1988. However, the in-race dominance of McLaren's MP4/4 in 1988 was on another level, with a much bigger advantage over the competition. McLaren's superiority was due to their innovative Honda engine, which delivered around 100bhp more than naturally-aspirated engines and ran efficiently with the full boost throughout races. While Red Bull's RB19 is dominant in its era, it doesn't match the extraordinary advantage McLaren had in 1988.

Aston Martin show car shines at Cumbrian Motor Show

Aston Martin's Formula 1 show car will be a major attraction at the Netherby Hall Car Show on August 5 and 6. Alongside a lineup of iconic Aston Martin luxury sports cars, Grange Aston Martin Edinburgh will showcase its fleet of supercars, including the new Aston Martin DB12 and the AMR23 F1 Show Car, identical to the current Formula 1 model. The event will also feature a wide range of vintage classic cars and supercars from different eras. Car clubs like Dumfries & Galloway Classic Wheels, Wigton Motor Club, and owners' clubs for Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Aston Martin will also exhibit their vehicles at the show.
