What entertainment and events are there at a SailGP race?

The On-Water Spectacle

SailGP is unlike any other racing series with 12 teams flying massive F50 Catamarans across the water, this spectacle brings the excitement of sailboat racing right to the shore for fans to witness the behind the scenes of the series.

• Close-to-Shore Action
  
  • The F50 foiling catamarans race on a tight, stadium-style course 
  • This allows fans to witness the boats literally "flying" across the water at speeds approaching 100 km/h (60 mph)
• Quick Races
  
  • The competition features multiple, short fleet races (approximately 15 minutes each) across two days
  • The event culminates in a thrilling winner-takes-all final race between the top three teams
• Live Commentary and Screens
  
  • All official viewing areas feature expert live commentary and large video screens showing real-time broadcasts and race data

The Fan Experience

The viewing areas are obviously on land for any SailGP event. Near the main grandstands, attendees can always expect to find a Fan Zone, or as SailGP sometimes calls it, the Race Stadium. This is where all of the off-water events and activities can be found. Fans can partake in different interactive activations while also enjoying live entertainment over the course of the race weekend.

Fan Access and Exclusive Upgrades

As always, there is an extra price to pay for an upgraded and more elevated race experience. Although SailGP is a very affordable series to attend, there are upgrades fans can purchase that allows them to tour the F50 Team Bases and be seated in a more premium location that would include covered seating.

  • For an additional fee, fans can purchase an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the F50 Team Bases
• Waterfront Premium
  
  • Many venues offer a premium ticket option that includes covered seating, and more food and beverage options 
• Après-Sail
  
  • The SailGP Race Stadium typically stays open for a period after the final race, allowing fans to enjoy the post-race atmosphere, food, and music
  • The best post-race moments include watching the F50 crews "fly by" the grandstand as they return to the dock
