F1 Fantasy Winners and Losers: 2026 Miami Grand Prix

After 5 weeks without racing, the F1 Miami Grand Prix delivered with threats of inclement weather, topsy-turvy driving, and team updates with the potential to shake up the grid. Kimi Antonelli also won his third Grand Prix in a row, making history and ensuring F1 Fantasy players will be looking at a lot more than just the standings this weekend. Winners and losers from the Miami Grand Prix below…

Winners

No Negative Users

Most F1 Fantasy players who used the No Negative chip this weekend were likely assuming that the rain forecasted for race day was going to materialize, at least partially, despite the FIA moving the start time three hours earlier to avoid any issue. While it ended up being a dry race weekend, there were still four DNFs in the main Grand Prix as well as two DNSs and one DSQ during the Sprint. Any player who played No Negative very likely saved themselves from either a -10 or -20 points penalty (or both), making them a solid winner for the weekend. Players who had Hulkenberg and No Negative will be especially thankful, as he recorded a DNS and a DNF and had a dismal -29 total F1 Fantasy points this weekend.

McLaren

Sprint: P1 (Norris) and P2 (Piastri)

Qualifying: P4 (Norris) and P7 (Piastri)

Race: P2 (Norris) and P3 (Piastri)

After a less than ideal start to the season, McLaren finds themselves back on top of the F1 Fantasy team scoreboard with 110 total points after recording a double podium in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix. The team brought a large upgrade package this weekend, and it allowed them to fight Mercedes and Ferrari for top positions. While Lando Norris was personally disappointed to finish second in the main race, he still scored the most F1 Fantasy points of any driver of the weekend with 54. With many F1 Fantasy teams moving to a two A-Tier constructor lineup and McLaren looking like they’re on an upward trajectory, they very well could overtake Mercedes as the must-have constructor soon.

Max Verstappen

Sprint: P5

Qualifying: P2

Race: P5

Red Bull brought some major weight-saving car upgrades this weekend, and Verstappen was immediately on the money with solid pace in the Sprint and Grand Prix. He lost places at the start of the main race after a spin, but he’s able to recover to a solid 5th place finish and that earned him a big F1 Fantasy points haul for overtakes and Driver of the Day. In total, he gained $0.1M and scored 52 F1 Fantasy points to become the second-highest-scoring driver of the weekend.

Williams

Sprint: P13 (Sainz) and P18 (Albon)

Qualifying: P13 (Sainz) and P15 (Albon)

Race: P9 (Sainz) and P10 (Albon)

Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz led Williams to their first double points finish since Monaco 2025 after the team brought upgrades to the Miami Grand Prix. The constructor was handsomely rewarded for their efforts with a $0.3M price increase and a season high 42 F1 Fantasy points. The Grove outfit has not started the 2026 Formula 1 season the way that they’ve wanted to, but this race was encouraging as they were able to fight at the top of the midfield for the first time this season. If they continue to perform positively, expect them to start bringing in more and more F1 Fantasy points.

Franco Colapinto

Sprint: P10

Qualifying: P8

Race: P7

Franco Colapinto had his best finish in his career this weekend. The Alpine driver finished in the top ten in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix, but he’s only able to score championship points from the main race after making his tires last for a long first stint and taking advantage of chaos around to finish in an impressive P7. He was the highest-placing driver from the midfield, gaining 13 F1 Fantasy points, and earning $0.6M in budget for his efforts. Colapinto has been a strong choice for many teams due to his budget gaining ability, and it looks like he’ll continue to feature on the Buy column for the coming races.

Losers

George Russell

Sprint: P4

Qualifying: P5

Race: P4

The senior Mercedes driver finished the race P4, which wasn’t the result he was looking for, especially when he lost further ground to his younger teammate, Kimi Antonelli, who leads the World Drivers’ Championship. Russell has been on the back foot to Antonelli for the past 3 races, and he continued to struggle for pace in Miami, a track that he admitted isn’t his best. While he still gained budget in F1 Fantasy, he remains more expensive than Antonelli while scoring less than him for the third weekend in the row, so teams will naturally gravitate towards Antonelli.

Ferrari

Sprint: P3 (Leclerc) and P7 (Hamilton)

Qualifying: P3 (Leclerc) and P6 (Hamilton)

Race: P6 (Hamilton) and P8 (Leclerc)

Although Charles Leclerc posted the team’s best results with P3 in both the Sprint and Qualifying, Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton both struggled during the weekend after damage affected both of their cars and they ended the Grand Prix with disappointing P6 and P8 classifications, respectively, after Charles’ penalty was applied. As a result, Ferrari dropped to be the third-highest-scoring F1 Fantasy constructor for the first time this year after being consistently second. The Scuderia earned 57 fantasy points (vs. McLaren’s 110 and Mercedes’ 104).

Audi

Sprint: DNS (Hulkenberg) and DSQ (Bortoleto)

Qualifying: P10 (Hulkenberg) and P21 (Bortoleto)

Race: P12 (Bortoleto) and DNF (Hulkenberg)

The new team faced a nightmare situation this weekend, with both Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto’s brakes catching on fire separately on Saturday. Hulkenberg was unable to finish the main race as well. While they’ve had flashes of promise throughout this year, the fluctuating temperatures and track conditions in Miami proved to be a huge issue for the team still adjusting to F1. They finish as the lowest scoring F1 Fantasy constructor with -27 points.

Isack Hadjar

Sprint: P9

Qualifying: DSQ

Race: DNF

Isack Hadjar struggled all weekend in comparison to his more experienced teammate,Max Verstappen, when it came to handling the Red Bull car and its new updates. Hadjar fell just short of scoring championship points by finishing ninth in the sprint, and his crash in the race erased any hope of points all weekend. His frustration was evident as the camera panned back from the wreck. The end result for F1 Fantasy players was -16 points from Hadjar.
