Seven retirements wreaked havoc on F1 Fantasy teams in Monaco, but there's no time to dwell on the damage. Formula 1 heads straight to Barcelona for the second race of a back-to-back, giving players an immediate chance to recover lost ground and capitalize on new opportunities. One driver holds the key to unlocking new upper midfield assets and our championship leader looks to rewrite an unfortunate history at the Spanish Grand Prix. Let's dive into the top F1 Fantasy storylines for the seventh race of the 2026 season.
Hulk Approaches Price Floor

This weekend, Nico Hulkenberg has the opportunity to become the first driver to reach the F1 Fantasy price floor of $3.0M. Once his price reaches this threshold, the Audi veteran's price cannot drop any further, making him a must-have target for teams building budget in the middle of the season.
Running the cheapest driver in the game unlocks a few important benefits. First, Hulkenberg has the third lowest target in the game to increase $0.6M at 8 points. He qualified P13 or higher for all six Grands Prix this season so a Q3 appearance is within reach.
Another benefit of running a sub-$4M driver is that it frees up more budget to select high-end midfield assets. Unreachable earlier in the season, Pierre Gasly ($11.6M) and Isack Hadjar ($11.5M) stand out as viable options for teams with over $112M to spend. The French drivers scored 28 and 29 fantasy points, respectively, over the past two races.
Hulkenberg's price hangs in the balance as F1 Fantasy committed a pricing error after the Monaco Grand Prix. After scoring 3 points, which many expected to decrease his value by $0.6M, the game only reduced Hulkenberg's price by $0.3M — an impossible margin for a Tier B driver.
As of this writing, Hulkenberg costs $3.5M and would only lose a maximum of $0.5M if he reaches the price floor in Barcelona. If F1 Fantasy corrects the issue, like after the Japanese Grand Prix when Valtteri Bottas reached last season's price floor of $4.5M, Hulkenberg would cost $3.2M and only stand to lose a maximum of $0.2M.
Barcelona History

Kimi Antonelli looks to build on his championship lead and erase the memories of Barcelona from last season. In his rookie campaign, Antonelli suffered an engine failure and retired early, his third consecutive finish of P18 or lower.
Appearing on the F1 Fantasy radar for the first time this season, Isack Hadjar soared to P7 with sister outfit Racing Bulls in 2025. Powered by six overtakes, Hadjar scored 16 fantasy points on the weekend — his second highest total after his maiden Formula 1 podium at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Nico Hulkenberg took an unconventional route to P5 in Barcelona last season. After lining up P15, Hulkenberg gained five positions on the opening lap and took advantage of a late safety car to overtake Lewis Hamilton on the final lap. Like Hadjar, his Spanish Grand Prix score trailed only his maiden podium for his highest tally of the season. He claimed championship points four times around this circuit.
Crucial to fantasy scores this weekend, Barcelona ranks among the top 8 circuits for overtakes in each of the last three seasons. During that time, four Tier B drivers posted double digit overtake totals. Esteban Ocon currently ranks second in this category and needs just 8 points to gain $0.2M.
Weather Outlook

For the second straight week, the forecast calls for ideal racing conditions. The No Negative chip should remain holstered in Barcelona with no rain in sight this weekend. These conditions appear ideal for Barcelona to continue its reputation as a top overtaking circuit.
