F1 could switch to cheaper V8 hybrid engines by 2029

Earlier this year, the idea of bringing back V10 engines in Formula 1 was rejected by engine makers because they felt it didn’t fit modern road car technology and had other problems. The FIA boss, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, now wants to use V8 engines with some electric power and change the rules by 2029. They also want to make parts like gearboxes and electric systems cheaper by making them the same for everyone. The sport faces high costs for new fuel, and the main goal is to save money and keep engine makers happy while still using new technology.

Critics forget how good Ericsson is at Indy

Marcus Ericsson has struggled since joining Andretti Global, and he hasn’t finished in the top 10 since the first race of the season. He came close to winning the Indy 500 again this year but was disqualified after the race, which dropped him far down the standings. Some fans think he should be replaced, even though other drivers with similar results don’t get the same criticism. But letting him go too early could backfire on Andretti, just like it did when they lost Takuma Sato and watched him win again with another team.

Our Motorsports ends NASCAR run after tough season

Kaz Grala finished 31st at Dover in what turned out to be the final race for Our Motorsports, as the team officially announced it would shut down operations after the event. The No. 5 Ferguson Chevrolet struggled all season, averaging a 27.4 finish and even failing to qualify in Chicago two weeks prior. Driver Kris Wright, who recently stepped away, was frequently involved in on-track incidents and drew criticism from others in the industry. Despite earlier playoff hopes, the team ended up 36th in earnings and out of the bonus pool before ultimately deciding to leave NASCAR after six years.

Hamlin stands firm after 23XI loses charter

23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin said he isn't worried about his team's antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR and promised that "all will be exposed" when the trial begins on December 1. He didn't answer questions about whether Tyler Reddick might leave the team if they lose their charter but repeated that people will get answers in court. 23XI and Front Row Motorsports already lost their charters and were denied a restraining order, so they now have to qualify for every race. Despite that setback, Hamlin said he has no regrets and told people to "mark your calendars."

Emirates GBR leads tight SailGP battle in Portsmouth

Dylan Fletcher’s Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team thrilled the home crowd in Portsmouth by leading the standings after a dominant day, including a race win and consistent podium finishes. Switzerland, New Zealand, and the BONDS Flying Roos stayed close behind, each winning one of the remaining races to keep the leaderboard tight heading into Championship Sunday. France was forced to withdraw from Day 1 after a major wing issue in practice, while fans were treated to live entertainment from Tom Grennan after racing.
