Felix Rosenqvist is a Swedish racing driver who made his name in Europe and Asia during the early 2010s. He won the Macau Grand Prix in China in both 2014 and 2015, then followed it up by taking the FIA European Formula 3 Championship later that year. 

In 2019, he made the move to the United States to compete in the NTT IndyCar Series. He now races in IndyCar with Meyer Shank Racing, lining up against some of the best open-wheel drivers in the world.

Felix Rosenqvist was born on November 7, 1991, and grew up in Värnamo, a small town in southern Sweden. His father, Helmer Rosenqvist, supported his first steps in karting when he was just a young boy in the early 2000s. 

Felix quickly showed natural speed and focus, which led him to compete across Sweden and later around Europe as a teenager. By 2009, he had moved into single-seater racing, competing in a range of international championships.

How did Felix Rosenqvist get to IndyCar?

After strong seasons in Formula Renault and Formula 3, Felix Rosenqvist won the FIA European Formula 3 Championship with Prema Powerteam in 2015. He tested an IndyCar with Chip Ganassi Racing the following year at Mid-Ohio, which helped open the door to racing in the United States. 

In 2019, he joined Chip Ganassi Racing full-time and finished the season as IndyCar Rookie of the Year.

One of Felix’s most talked-about wins came in 2017, when he took his first Formula E victory at the Berlin ePrix. He had already made history by winning the Macau Grand Prix in both 2014 and 2015, becoming one of the few drivers to win it back to back at the event.  

In IndyCar, another big moment came in 2020, when he claimed his first series win at Road America in Wisconsin.
