Victor Martins is a French racing driver who rose to prominence in 2020 after winning the Formula Renault Eurocup with ART Grand Prix. He continued his rise through the junior ranks and reached a major breakthrough in 2022, when he won the FIA Formula 3 Championship at Monza, again with ART.

Martins moved up to Formula 2 in 2023 with ART Grand Prix. He finished fifth overall with 150 points and won the Anthoine Hubert Award as the top rookie. Martins remained in Formula 2 through the 2025 season while continuing his development as part of the Alpine Academy, which he joined in 2021. 

In March 2025, he took another major step by joining the Williams Driver Academy, later becoming a Williams test and development driver for 2026. Alongside his single-seater journey, Martins also began preparing for endurance racing, including plans to compete in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship with Alpine.

Victor Martins was born on 16 June 2001 in Quincy-sous-Sénart, France. His mother is French and his father is Portuguese. Before motorsport, he trained in gymnastics and became a French gymnastics champion in 2011 at age 10. In 2013, he switched to karting and began pursuing racing full-time with support from his family.

Victor Martins’ path into Formula racing took off in 2016 when he won the CIK-FIA Karting Junior World Championship in Bahrain. In 2017, he moved into French Formula 4, where he won multiple races and finished second overall in the championship. 

He stepped up to Formula Renault Eurocup in 2018 with MP Motorsport, before joining ART Grand Prix. In 2019, he finished runner-up in the series, and in 2020, he won the Formula Renault Eurocup title. 

That result helped him progress into FIA Formula 3 in 2021, and in 2022 he won the FIA Formula 3 Championship. He then moved up to Formula 2 in 2023 with ART Grand Prix.

One of Victor Martins’ biggest career moments came in 2022 when he secured the FIA Formula 3 title at Monza, becoming the first non-Prema champion in several years. In the 2023 Bahrain Formula 2 round at Sakhir, he earned his first podium in the series. 

Later that season, he claimed his first Formula 2 win at Silverstone in July 2023. He ended the 2023 season fifth overall with 150 points and finished as the top rookie. In 2024, he added another milestone by winning the sprint race in Spain. 

In 2025, he secured another podium finish at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Martins also tested Formula 1 machinery with Alpine in 2023, and in 2025, he made his Formula 1 debut with Williams in a testing role. He later began preparations with Alpine’s endurance program ahead of the 2026 WEC season.
