Ferrucci began karting at the age of five in local competitions across the United States. By 2013, at just 15 years old, he moved to Europe to pursue opportunities in single seater racing. Ferrucci began racing in British Formula 3 in 2014 and continued in the series through the 2015 season as he developed his skills in European single seater racing. He later stepped up to Formula 2 with Trident in 2017.

However, controversy during the 2018 season led to the end of his Formula 2 contract. Soon after, Dale Coyne Racing offered him an opportunity in IndyCar. Ferrucci made his debut at the Detroit Grand Prix in June 2018 and quickly impressed with consistent finishes.

His strong performances, including an 11th place result at the 2018 Indianapolis 500, helped him secure a full time seat for the 2019 season. Since then, he has raced for several IndyCar teams and signed a multi year deal with AJ Foyt Enterprises ahead of the 2023 season.

One of the biggest early highlights of Ferrucci’s IndyCar career came in 2019 when he finished seventh in the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That performance earned him the Rookie of the Year award. 

He followed it with another strong run at the famous race in 2020, finishing fourth. Ferrucci achieved his best Indianapolis 500 result in 2023 with a third place finish while driving for AJ Foyt Enterprises. 

That same season, he scored several top five finishes and helped the team record some of its strongest results in recent years. Outside IndyCar, Ferrucci has also competed in NASCAR. He raced in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Sam Hunt Racing in 2021 and appeared at major venues such as Daytona International Speedway.
