Sir Scott Ronald Glyndwr Dixon is a New Zealand racing driver and one of the most successful competitors in IndyCar history. He began racing professionally in 1998 and quickly stood out for his calm driving style and strong decision-making.

Dixon began karting at the age of seven in 1987 and won multiple junior titles in New Zealand by the early 1990s. By his mid-teens, he transitioned into Formula Vee and Formula Ford, racing across New Zealand and Australia while balancing school and travel.

Dixon’s path to IndyCar accelerated in the late 1990s when he moved to the United States to pursue higher-level racing opportunities. 

In 2000, he competed in the Indy Lights Series, now known as Indy NXT, with PacWest Racing and won the championship after a tight season finale in Fontana, California. The title earned him a full-time IndyCar seat in 2001 with PacWest Racing. In 2002, Dixon signed with Chip Ganassi Racing, a career-defining move that led to his first IndyCar championship in 2003.
