Brazilian GP Bag Policy: What You Can and Can’t Bring to Interlagos

Going to the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, commonly known as the Interlagos Circuit, for the Brazilian Grand Prix? Don’t get stuck at the gate or denied entry.

Read this guide to understand the circuit’s bag policy and security measures, and to avoid problems that could ruin your Formula 1 experience. We’ll provide you with the most important facts you need to know, including what you can and can’t bring, along with race-day essentials worth packing.

Brazilian GP Bag Policy and Security Rules (2026)

According to the official rules for F1 in São Paulo, you are prohibited from bringing bulky items exceeding 25 × 25 × 25 cm (about 9.8 × 9.8 × 9.8 in), including large bags, backpacks, suitcases, and sports bags, that cannot fit between your feet or that take up as much space as one person.

Security may inspect your belongings at the circuit entrance and again before entering certain areas. Small handbags, compact bags, waist bags, and fanny packs may pass inspection provided they stay within the size limit.

Any prohibited items, including oversized bags, need to stay outside the circuit. You must remove or discard them before entry, or event staff will take them away. If you refuse, you could be turned away at the gate or asked to leave.

‍

What You CAN Bring to Interlagos

Here's what you can bring to the circuit:

Food

You can bring up to three food items per person, provided they are properly sealed. Whole fruit is prohibited, but pre-cut fruit stored in flexible, transparent packaging (e.g., Ziploc bags) is allowed.

Free drinking-water stations will be available inside Interlagos. You cannot bring bottled water or other drinks. If you have dietary restrictions, submit a request to the organizer by November 2, 2026, for review and approval.

Personal Documents

You may be asked to present ID and other relevant documents at the entrance. If you purchased a half-price ticket, you need to bring documentation that supports your eligibility for the half-price benefit, such as a student ID card. You also need to bring all required identification and vaccination records for any guide dog you bring to the circuit.

Personal Electronic Devices

  • Mobile phones
  • Personal digital cameras with non-interchangeable lenses
  • Personal handheld communication devices

Photos and recordings taken at the venue must be for private, non-commercial purposes only.
