What you CAN and CAN'T Bring to the Australian GP 2026

Heading to the 2026 Australian Grand Prix? Don’t get stuck at the gates.

Be prepared by checking the Albert Park bag policy, prohibited items, and essential race day gear for every F1 fan.

Formula 1 is headed back to the famous Albert Park Street Circuit to kick off the 2026 Australian Grand Prix! While every circuit has its own quirks, Albert Park has specific requirements to keep the event safe and the views clear for everyone.

To ensure every fan has a safe and seamless experience at Albert Park, all attendees must follow the circuit regulations. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned veteran, here is your essential checklist for race weekend.

Entry & Security

All fans entering the entertainment area are subject to a security check and bag search. Please cooperate with event staff to keep the lines moving.

Refusal of Search: May result in denied entry without a refund.

Commercial Rules: No unauthorized merchandise or tickets for commercial distribution are permitted.

Prohibited Items

The following items are not permitted inside the circuit for safety, legal, or visibility reasons:

Alcohol & Glass

  • No outside alcohol or glass bottles/containers.

Professional Photo Gear:

  • Camera lenses with a physical length exceeding 400mm and all camera tripods.

Aviation:

  • Drones are strictly prohibited (flying one is a criminal offense).

Noisy or Dangerous Items:

  • Whistles
  • Bugles
  • Flares
  • Fireworks
  • Laser pointers.

Large Gear:

  • Hard-cased coolers
  • Tents
  • Umbrellas (which block the view of others).

Inflatables:

  • Inflatable couches or "air sofas."

Transport:

  • Scooters
  • Skateboards
  • Bikes

Your Race Day Essentials

We recommend packing light, but these items will make your day much more comfortable:

Tickets & ID:

  • Your digital ticket (ready on your phone) and a valid ID for yourself and any children.

Sun Protection:

  • A wide-brimmed hat and high-SPF sunscreen. The Melbourne sun can be fierce!

Stay Hydrated:

  • Reusable plastic water bottles (sealed or empty). You can refill them for free at water stations around the track.

Seating:

  • Foldable camping chairs and picnic rugs are great for General Admission (Park Pass) areas.

Tech:

  • Your smartphone (for digital maps and programs) and a portable power bank.
