F1 Fantasy: Can Ollie Bearman Avoid a Price Drop in Miami and Canada?

As the Formula 1 calendar shifts to North America and back-to-back Sprint weekends, the most popular driver in F1 Fantasy is suddenly under pressure. Selected on 61% of all teams, Ollie Bearman ranks tenth in fantasy points through the first three races and leads the grid with $1.8M of value gained. However, his frightening crash at Suzuka triggered the game’s stiffest penalty and his -14-point result calls into question whether Bearman will continue to gain value heading into Miami and Canada.

How Value is Built in F1 Fantasy

Every team begins with $100M to spend on five drivers and two constructors. After each race weekend, prices change based on performance. If a fantasy lineup increases in value, its cost cap increases, unlocking elite combinations as the season unfolds. In 2025, the top teams grew their cost caps to over $130M and selected World Champion Lando Norris along with the game’s two highest scoring constructors, McLaren and Mercedes.

How do F1 Fantasy price changes work?

Price changes are driven by the average points scored per million dollars of cost (points per million or PPM) over a rolling three-race period. The game sets PPM thresholds for price changes based on the price of the asset: Tier A drivers cost between $18.5M and $34.0M while Tier B drivers cost between $3M and $18.4M. By looking back at the previous two races, F1 Fantasy players can predict exactly how many points a driver needs to gain value at the next race.

The Turning Point in Bearman's Value

After scoring 34 points in China and -14 points in Japan, Bearman needs just 5 points in Miami to gain $0.2M and 13 points to gain the maximum of $0.6M. Considering he ranks third on the grid with 31 overtakes this season and Miami is one of only six circuits to finish above the median overtake total in each of the last three seasons, the British youngster is expected to reach his price gain targets.

Best F1 circuits for overtakes

The real decision comes at the Canadian Grand Prix, as Bearman risks losing value for the first time this season. If he scores 14 points in Miami, his price gain thresholds increase to 27 points for $0.2M and 36 points for $0.6M for Round 5 — a tall order considering he averaged just 14 fantasy points across his first seven Sprint weekends.

Ocon "Haas" the Advantage

F1 Fantasy players willing to move on from Bearman will look right across the Haas garage at his teammate, Esteban Ocon. Ocon finished P10 or higher in six straight Canadian Grands Prix, including a sensational climb from P18 to P10 in 2024, and accomplished the same feat in three of the last four races in Miami.

The decision is simple: hold Bearman in Miami and reassess for Canada or proactively transfer in Ocon and get ahead of the curve. Most players will stick with Bearman but if Ocon outpaces his teammate in Free Practice and Sprint Qualifying, he could be the best value on the grid.

The most successful F1 Fantasy strategists make bold lineup decisions based on data trends and historical performance. In a game where early budget building defines your ceiling later on, pivoting away from popular drivers like Ollie Bearman at just the right moment can create a season-defining advantage.
