McLaren tops Dutch GP practice
Lando Norris was fastest in the first Dutch GP practice, followed closely by his teammate Oscar Piastri as McLaren dominated. They stayed ahead of everyone else, while Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso were the next quickest. Max Verstappen ended sixth after going into the gravel, and Kimi Antonelli, Yuki Tsunoda, and Lewis Hamilton all had spins. Ferrari struggled, with Charles Leclerc and Hamilton in 14th and 15th, and all eyes will be on FP2 to see if anyone can challenge McLaren.

Playoff drivers looking to bounce back at Darlington
Ryan Blaney’s win at Daytona helped Alex Bowman grab the last playoff spot and complete the 16-driver field. Bowman starts the playoffs five points below the cutline and needs stage points and a steady run at Darlington to stay in the fight. Tyler Reddick also had trouble at Daytona, but his strong past results at Darlington give him a chance to move forward. Denny Hamlin has five wins at Darlington and the best average finish there, making him a top contender even though his recent results have been shaky.

Palmowski fastest in F1 Academy Dutch practice
Alisha Palmowski was fastest in the first practice session of the F1 Academy Dutch round, just ahead of Maya Weug and Chloe Chambers, as the track got faster before a red flag stopped the session. The championship returned after a 75-day break, and drivers like Palmowski and Weug had already shown strong speed at Zandvoort in earlier testing. Palmowski set the quickest lap at 1:38.196, with Chambers and Weug close behind, before Joanne Ciconte hit the barriers and caused the red flag. Doriane Pin, Chloe Chong, and Alba Larsen finished in the next top spots, and the drivers will race again in the second practice session later.

Even with that finish, he will not race at Darlington, as Josh Bilicki will drive the No. 66 Ford for Garage 66. Derek Kraus will also race at Darlington in the No. 44 Chevrolet for NY Racing Team.
