Ben Sulayem set to run unopposed in FIA election
Mohammed Ben Sulayem will likely be the only candidate for FIA president because of the rules. Candidates must select vice-presidents from six parts of the world, but only one person from South America can be chosen, and she supports Ben Sulayem. This stops anyone else from joining the race, and some people say this is unfair. Ben Sulayem also faced criticism after important people who asked questions about his leadership left the FIA.

NASCAR team out due to poor Charlotte finish
Garage 66, the new name for MBM Motorsports, raced at Charlotte with Josh Bilicki in 32nd, his best this year. They are not in the race this weekend at Las Vegas. The team will return for the last three races of the season with Casey Mears in the No. 66 car. Mears gave the team its best oval result this year with 29th at Daytona.

IMSA renews long-term deal with Michelin
IMSA and Michelin have signed a new deal that keeps Michelin as the official tire supplier until 2035. Michelin will continue to supply tires for all IMSA races and remain the main sponsor for several big events and tracks, like the Michelin Pilot Challenge and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. In 2026, they will start a new award that honors the most eco-friendly GTP car, based on tire use, fuel efficiency, and race results. This deal builds on their partnership that began in 2019 and shows their shared focus on performance, teamwork, and sustainability.

Aitken leads second Petit Le Mans practice
Jack Aitken was the fastest in the second practice at Motul Petit Le Mans in the No. 31 Cadillac. Matt Campbell and Filipe Albuquerque were close behind in second and third place. Alex Quinn was the quickest in the LMP2 class, and Ferrari cars led in the GT group. The practice stopped three times because of crashes and problems, and the last practice session is scheduled soon.
