Why Red Bull’s 2025 gains come at a big cost
Red Bull has acknowledged that its efforts to improve the 2025 car have slowed progress on the major 2026 rule changes. The team’s new front wing in Singapore helped Verstappen challenge McLaren on a high-downforce track for the first time this season. Laurent Mekies said the upgrades were important to fix the car’s weaknesses and validate their development methods, even though it delays work on the 2026 project. While Verstappen’s title chances remain low, Red Bull’s recent progress gives him more confidence for the rest of the season.

NASCAR asks court to start settlement talks with 23XI, FRM
NASCAR asked the court to arrange a settlement conference with 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports to resolve their lawsuit before the trial in December. The lawsuit started after these teams refused to sign a contract called the charter agreement, which guarantees teams spots in races and shares of money. NASCAR said the teams don’t have a good reason to claim it’s a monopoly and shared warnings from other team owners that the charter system is important for their businesses and jobs. The teams say they don’t want to get rid of the charter system, just improve it, and believe NASCAR is not interested in a resolution.

F1 Academy partners with Hello Kitty for final race
F1 Academy will finish its 2025 season in Las Vegas with a fun and unexpected partnership with Hello Kitty and Friends. The all-women series will feature a special Hello Kitty grandstand, meet-and-greets, themed food, and a 36-piece collection of clothes, toys, and accessories with Sanrio characters dressed as drivers and crew. The goal is to break old ideas about motorsport through cute, creative, and colorful experiences that welcome more young fans, especially girls. Damian Priest to pace NASCAR race

Ruzewski replaces Edwards as Andretti IndyCar leader
Ron Ruzewski, who was part of Team Penske, will take over as the new boss of Andretti Global’s IndyCar team in 2026.
