Singapore GP hits lowest US viewership this year
The Singapore Grand Prix had 931,000 viewers on ESPN in the US, below one million because it aired at the same time as an early NFL game in London. This is only the second time this year that Formula One had fewer viewers than last year, even though it usually gets over one million. At the same time, NASCAR’s playoff race in Charlotte had 1.54 million viewers, the most this season but less than last year. NASCAR’s playoff viewers are lower, and if this continues, 2025 could be the first year with less than two million average viewers.

Porsche exits WEC racing after Le Mans struggles
Porsche will end its factory team in the WEC’s top class after this season, which makes a 20th win at Le Mans much harder. The company feels race rules gave Ferrari an unfair advantage, has no Le Mans win with the 963 car, and faces major financial trouble, with a $1.5 billion revenue drop and 1,900 job cuts. Porsche still competes in IMSA with Team Penske, a path that may lead to a Le Mans invitation, but it's no longer the main focus. The company now shifts focus to Formula E, even as it delays or cancels several future electric cars.
