Oscar Piastri topped the final free practice session in Spain ahead of his teammate, Lando Norris, and the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc
The drivers took to the track for the final free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend. Lando Norris topped FP1 ahead of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Norris is coming off a dominant win in Monaco and McLaren have been looking like the strongest contenders of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Oscar Piastri topped FP2 ahead of George Russell and Max Verstappen. See what happened in the third and final practice session:
- McLaren are looking to the be the strongest drivers out on track with Lando Norris topping FP1 and Oscar Piastri topping FP2
- The temperatures are getting warmer which is resulting in more track grip and faster times on the board
- Williams are looking strong and have had a very competitive season thus far
- This is the home race for Carlos Sainz who has scored points in every single Spanish Grand Prix that he's ever raced (10 races)
- Liam Lawson had a moment on track where he dipped his wheel into the gravel, diritying his tires
- Most drivers were running the soft tires in this session
- Lewis Hamilton seemed to have a gear box issue right at the end of the final practice
