Filipe Albuquerque is a Portuguese professional racing driver who competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship as a Cadillac driver with Wayne Taylor Racing and in the European Le Mans Series with Nielsen Racing.
He has built a strong reputation in endurance racing, winning the LMP2 title in the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship, the LMP2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020, and overall victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2018 and 2021.
Albuquerque began his racing career in karting and made his competitive debut in 1994 at the age of nine. By 2005, he had already been named Rookie of the Year in three major championships. In 2006, he won the Red Bull Junior Driver of the Year award, which led to several Formula One test drives for Red Bull and Toro Rosso.

His passion for motorsport began in 1993 when he first experienced karting at Kartódromo da Batalha. He quickly developed through the junior ranks and, at the age of 22, completed his first official test in a Toro Rosso Formula 1 car. His career has since been filled with success across several racing categories.

Albuquerque started his racing career in karting in 1993 and went on to win two national karting titles before moving into Spanish Formula Three with support from Red Bull. In 2006, he competed in both the Formula Renault Eurocup and the North European Formula Renault Championship, winning the drivers’ title in both series.
He stayed in Formula Renault until 2008 before moving to the Italian GT3 Championship in 2009 with an Audi R8 LMS. A year later, he competed in the series full-time. In 2013, Albuquerque made his IMSA debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona with Alex Job Racing in the GT class and won the category as part of an Audi 1–2 finish.
The following year, he moved into LMP2 in the European Le Mans Series and also raced for Audi at Le Mans, helping grow his endurance racing career.

He also claimed the North American Endurance Cup in 2017 and has competed at Le Mans every year since making his debut in 2014.
