Jack Hawksworth was born on February 28, 1991, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, and grew up in the nearby town of Pudsey. From a young age, he was drawn to motorsport, and his family supported his passion by taking him to local kart tracks such as Fulbeck Kart Club and Rowrah Kart Track. 

He began competitive karting around 2004, racing in club championships across Yorkshire and the North of England. By 2006 and 2007, he was competing regularly in national events like the British Open Karting Championship and the Super 1 Series, where he earned podium finishes and started attracting attention. His early karting success helped him move into car racing in 2008, when he entered the Ginetta Junior Championship.

Jack Hawksworth moved into open-wheel racing in 2010 by competing in the Formula Renault UK Winter Series, where he scored multiple pole positions and finished third overall. In 2011, he raced in the Formula Renault UK Championship and won a race. 

In 2012, he relocated to the United States and joined the Star Mazda Championship, where he won the championship title.

After his junior formula success, Hawksworth entered IndyCar in 2013, racing for Dragon Racing and later A.J. Foyt Racing. In 2017, he moved into sports car racing and joined a Lexus-backed IMSA program. 

He began competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the GT Daytona category and later became a long-term driver for Vasser Sullivan Racing.

One of the most significant moments of Hawksworth’s career came in 2014 at Pocono Raceway, where he suffered injuries in an IndyCar practice crash and missed the race weekend. 

However, he bounced back in 2017, and achieved a strong fifth-place finish at Watkins Glen in IMSA competition. In 2019, he also made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut.

Another moment came in 2023, when he and Ben Barnicoat dominated the IMSA Championship GTD Pro class. They scored nine podiums and two wins on the way to the championship, which was Lexus’ first IMSA title.

In March 2024, Barnicoat, Hawksworth, and Kyle Kirkwood won the 12 Hours of Sebring. The victory also marked the first Sebring win for both Lexus and Vasser Sullivan Racing.
