Marcus Ericsson is a Swedish racing driver best known for his career in IndyCar and his victory at the Indianapolis 500. Ericsson has also raced in Formula BMW, Japanese Formula 3, and in the GP2 Series, which played a key role in his move into Formula 1.
He raced in Formula 1 from 2014 to 2018, driving for teams like Caterham and Sauber. Following his time in Formula 1, Ericsson moved to the IndyCar Series in 2019, where he gradually established himself as a consistent front-runner. He currently races with the Andretti Global team in IndyCar.

After competing in GP2 and then spending four seasons in Formula 1 from 2014 to 2018, he signed with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and began racing full-time in the IndyCar Series in 2019.

His background in open-wheel racing helped him adapt quickly to IndyCar, and in 2024, he joined Andretti Global, one of the top teams in the series.
