Pietro Fittipaldi was born on June 25, 1996, in Miami, Florida, United States. He holds both Brazilian and American nationality. He comes from one of motorsport’s most famous families, as he is the grandson of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi. He is also the older brother of racing driver Enzo Fittipaldi. 

Pietro began karting in 2003 at age seven, then moved into single-seater racing in 2011. In 2012, he competed in the Skip Barber National Championship, which helped raise his profile in the junior racing world.

Pietro Fittipaldi started his rise in Europe through series like Formula Renault and British Formula 4. In 2015, he entered the MRF Challenge Formula 2000, which took him to races across India and the Middle East. In 2018, he entered Formula 2, but his season was interrupted after a serious crash at Spa-Francorchamps during a WEC weekend, where he fractured both legs. He later returned to racing and continued rebuilding his career. In 2020, he became a Haas reserve driver and got his long-awaited Formula 1 opportunity later that year.

After competing in Formula 2 in 2018, Pietro Fittipaldi began focusing more on endurance racing. That same year, he also raced in the FIA World Endurance Championship, which helped him gain experience in long-distance events.

Then in 2022, he entered IMSA in the United States and joined Pratt Miller Racing in the Chevrolet Corvette GT program. He took part in major races like the 24 Hours of Daytona, which helped strengthen his presence in American endurance racing.

Then in 2020, he reached Formula 1 after Haas selected him as Romain Grosjean’s replacement following Grosjean’s crash in Bahrain. Fittipaldi finished 17th at the Sakhir Grand Prix on December 6, and later finished 19th at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 13.
