The 2026 Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid will be held at the brand-new Madring street circuit. As a first-timer, you don’t want security to keep you away from the Formula 1 action come race weekend.
To ensure easy entry into the venue, you need to know the Spanish GP bag policy and prohibited items. Let’s dive in!
Madrid Spanish Grand Prix Bag Policy
Organizers have yet to release a definitive bag size, dimensions, or capacity limit. However, they have stated that large backpacks, suitcases, and wheeled luggage will not be permitted.
You may refer to the typical bag policy for F1 races just to be safe. Small bags (no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”) and backpacks (max. 12” x 12” x 20”) are generally allowed, but most F1 organizers don’t allow large bags or luggage. Basically, anything that you can’t fit under a seat could be problematic.
Subject to availability, you may be able to keep your bags, backpack, luggage, and other acceptable items in a storage locker. Please note that it’s a paid service costing between $5 for jackets and $24 for suitcases or other larger items (€4 to €20). Lockers can be found at the Consigna Norte - Valdebebas Interchange and Consigna Sur - Palacio Municipal IFEMA Madrid.
For security reasons, you and your belongings may be searched at the entrance.
