The IndyCar season finale has become a fan-favorite at the Nashville Superspeedway. With a panoramic view of the high speed action from the grandstand to the buzzing fan areas, this race is a must-do if you plan on attending an IndyCar Grand Prix!
To make sure that you make the most of your race weekend experience, we’ve put together this comprehensive guide on the bag policy and other general rules for the Superspeedway.
Grandstand General Rules
There is only one grandstand located at the Nashville Superspeedway. If you’re looking to purchase tickets for the Music City Grand Prix next season, be sure to check out our seating guide for advice on the best ticket packages on offer.
To ensure a seamless entry and a great experience, keep these tips in mind as you head to your seat in the grandstands:
- Arrive Early: The best course of action is to always consult the weekend schedule ahead of planning your trip and arrival time. For an easy weekend, plan to arrive at the Superspeedway early to avoid delays with crowds!
- Have Your Bags Ready: For your safety and the safety of all fans, security will be conducting bag searches upon entry. Make sure you’re following the guidelines for any prohibited and allowed items at the circuit.
- Mobile Tickets Only: All tickets at Nashville Superspeedway are mobile and can be accessed by downloading the Nashville Superspeedway Mobile App on your phone.
- Cashless Concessions: All transactions at concessions will be via debit/credit cards. No cash will be accepted.
- Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in the grandstands or the tower. It is only permitted on the ground level in open-air areas.

Grandstand Bag Policy & Allowed Items
The Nashville Superspeedway operates a strict clear bag policy. Like at any other race, sporting event, or concert, it’s best to plan ahead and obey the guidelines to avoid any disruptions to your race weekend fun!
Allowed Items:
- One clear bag or clear backpack, no larger than 18” x 18” x 14”
- This is ideal for items like headsets, scanners, cameras, binoculars, and cold packs (no loose ice).
- One clutch bag or fanny pack, no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”.
- Unopened or empty plastic water bottles. Insulated cups are also permitted.
- No other outside beverages are allowed.
Prohibited Items:
You may NOT enter the grandstands with any of the following items. Please note that any prohibited items discovered may not be left at the gate and must be returned to your vehicle.
- Alcoholic beverages
- Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, hoverboards, or scooters
- Cameras with a detachable lens over 5”, selfie sticks, tripods, or video cameras
- Chairs, umbrellas, or strollers
- Confederate clothing or flags
- Coolers of any kind
- Drones, fireworks, balloons, beach balls, or noisemakers
- Flag poles
- Glass containers
- Inflatables
- Items that obstruct views
- Laser lights or pointers
- Pets (except for service animals)
- Weapons of any kind
- Wagons and/or carts
Tailgating Areas
Another fun element to the Nashville race weekend is the fan tailgating. There are camp grounds around the circuit that allow fans to pitch a tent or park their camper van to be as close to the action as possible. If you are planning to camp or participate in the tailgating activities, please respect the rules and regulations to ensure you, and everyone around you, have the best experience!
- Tailgate Spaces: Extra-wide parking spaces are available for purchase for the serious tailgater. These spaces are reserved, renewable, and are yours for the entire weekend.
- If It Fits, It’s Allowed: You are permitted to bring whatever can fit inside your vehicle, including portable grills and shade tents.
- No Vehicle Extensions: To ensure fair space for all fans, trailers or other extensions are not allowed.
- Safety First: No ground fires. All flags must be at least 100 feet away from telephone and power lines. No metal flag poles are permitted.
- Be Neighborly: Tailgating is a community activity, so be courteous to your neighbors.
- Clear Your Area: All tailgating items must be put up and secured before you head to the track for the event.
Parking
The parking can be quite busy, so it is imperative to plan ahead to ensure a seamless arrival at the Nashville Superspeedway.
- Daily Parking: Daily parking at Nashville Superspeedway is free.
- Reserved Parking: For reserved parking located closer to the grandstands, you can purchase a pass online.
- ADA Parking: ADA parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis near the main gates. You must present a valid ADA hangtag or place card registered to a guest in your vehicle to access this lot.
