Monaco Scores Resolved...For Now

Following a successful appeal by Alpine, F1 Fantasy updated the scores from Monaco to reflect the latest classifications. Pierre Gasly jumped from P7 to P3 and surged from 12 fantasy points to 25. Isack Hadjar, Arvid Lindblad, Liam Lawson, and Oscar Piastri were each demoted one position and retroactively lost points. Scores and price changes from the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix were subsequently finalized as well, which unlocked fantasy lineups for Austria this weekend.

While some players selected Gasly for Barcelona with the hopes that his updated score would bring additional price gains, F1 Fantasy confirmed in an email to players that "no backdated adjustments will apply" to driver and constructor pricing. By scoring 17 points in Barcelona, Gasly's price increased $0.6M to $12.2M and the French veteran now needs just 2 fantasy points this weekend to gain an additional $0.6M.

Complicating the situation further, McLaren and Red Bull filed appeals this week to challenge the FIA's decision to reinstate Gasly's podium. The results may change again and that likely explains the decision by F1 Fantasy to not apply additional price changes to Gasly.

Racing Bulls on Parade

The Racing Bulls duo of Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson have blossomed into popular midfield options over the first seven races. Lawson ranks third with $2.2M of value increases and a 1.36 points per million value returned. His five top-10 finishes are tied with Charles Leclerc, George Russell, and Max Verstappen. He needs just 2 points to gain another $0.2 in Austria and betting lines currently predict Lawson will reach Q3 once again.

Lindblad, meanwhile, is selected on 41% of teams in the Global League — second to only Ollie Bearman and ahead of championship leader, Kimi Antonelli. One of only five drivers on the grid to record 10 or more fantasy points in each of the last two races, Lindblad has the lowest price gain targets in the game for Austria. Since he costs just $5.6M, Lindblad can gain $0.6M with -7 or more fantasy points and becomes a must-have driver.

With Aston Martin and Cadillac regularly retiring from races and Williams and Haas struggling to find pace, Lindblad and Lawson have quickly developed a role as budget-building meta lineup mainstays. For new or low budget teams, a one-week punt on the VCARB constructor on the heels of consecutive double points finishes should deliver both fantasy points and price gain upside.

Red Bull Ring History

Lando Norris enters the weekend with a strong record in Austria. He won his third race of the season here in 2025 and consistently outperformed expectations from 2020 to 2023. He dramatically retired after colliding with Max Verstappen in 2024 while battling for the lead. In this week's episode of The Fantasy Formula, Tom Bellingham from P1 with Matt and Tommy backed Lando Norris as a potential race winner.

In a home race for Red Bull, Max Verstappen looks to regain his unstoppable form in Spielberg. He took pole position in five straight races around this circuit that culminated in three of his five wins at the Red Bull Ring. Incidents with Lando Norris in 2024 and Kimi Antonelli in 2025 ended a streak of five consecutive podium finishes.

A P8 finish last year by Gabriel Bortoleto capped off a superb double points finish for Kick Sauber. He completed eight overtakes and earned Driver of the Day honors on his way to a career-high 25 fantasy points. Bortoleto looks to collect championship points this weekend after finishing P11 in Monaco and Barcelona.

Weather Outlook

Another pleasant weekend awaits in Spielberg but tire management is expected to play a factor once again. Pirelli's circuit report for the Red Bull Ring predicts high asphalt abrasion due to the aging track surface. Thermal degradation should also challenge the teams since the short straights provide little opportunity for cooling.
