Carlos Sainz brought out the red flag quite early on in the session. Thankfully, he was ok and the session was able to be resumed with about 25 minutes left. During the first lap out, Nico Hülkenberg went into the wall, causing another red flag. Again, he was ok and the session was able to be resumed a couple minutes later.
The Alfa Romeos loked strong during this session with Valtteri Bottas finishing in 4th and Guanyu Zhou finishing in 7th. Charles Leclerc topped the session, followed by the McLaren of Lando Norris. Max Verstappen claimed the third position while the Red Bull of Sergio Perez finished FP2 in 5th. Both of the Williams drivers seemed to struggle with Logan Sargeant finishin in 18th and Alex Albon ending free practice 2 in 16th.
