How Hamilton can fix his Ferrari brake struggle
Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari has been harder than he and the team expected, with boss Fred Vasseur saying they thought it would be easier. He has had to get used to Ferrari’s engines and also to Brembo brakes, which feel very different from the ones he used at Mercedes. Hamilton’s driving style depends on strong braking at the start, but Brembo’s brakes are smoother and force him to adjust the way he drives. Ferrari and Brembo have made changes to the brake pads to help him, but it is still a work in progress.

5 shocking Daytona wrecks that shook NASCAR
Daytona International Speedway is one of NASCAR’s most famous tracks, but it has also seen deadly and scary crashes, like Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s fatal accident in 2001. This weekend, it hosts the Coke Zero Sugar 400, the last race of the regular season, with two playoff spots still open for drivers to fight for. Daytona is known for unpredictable racing, where big surprises can happen, such as Harrison Burton’s win last year. The track has also had huge crashes, including Austin Dillon’s car flying into the catch fence, Ryan Newman’s fiery wreck, and Juan Pablo Montoya hitting a jet dryer.

Colton Herta weighs F2 step for F1 dream
Colton Herta has not ruled out racing in Formula 2 if it helps him get to Formula 1, but he says the talk is only rumors for now. He has been linked to F1 since 2021, including Andretti’s failed Sauber deal and a test with McLaren at Portimao, but he still does not have enough Super Licence points. Herta needed a top-four finish in IndyCar this year to qualify, but sitting sixth means he cannot reach the required 40 points. He said an F1 chance would be something to think about, but for now, he is focused on IndyCar and knows moving to Europe would be a big life change.

The playoff format that makes upsets less exciting in NASCAR
Cole Custer, Daniel Suarez, and Justin Haley almost pulled off surprise wins at Daytona, but NASCAR’s playoff system makes those upsets less fun. The rule says “win and you’re in,” which means steady drivers like Alex Bowman and Tyler Reddick, who earned lots of points, could lose their playoff spots to a one-time winner. Shocking wins bring short excitement, but they also allow weaker drivers into the playoffs while stronger ones get left out. This makes the playoff field less competitive and takes away from the fight for the championship.
