Does Tim Mayer pose a real threat to Sulayem?
Tim Mayer is running for FIA president and says the current leader, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, promised reform but didn’t deliver. Mayer believes Ben Sulayem used flashy moves to make it look like progress was being made, but nothing really changed. Chicago residents slam NASCAR disruptions
Several Chicago residents expressed frustration over the disruptions caused by the NASCAR street race, especially for the 50,000 Loop residents and daily commuters on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. They criticized the extensive road closures, rerouted buses, and limited access to Grant Park, saying the inconvenience far outweighs any tourism benefits. Others raised concerns about air pollution from the race and questioned its financial value to the city, arguing that it adds little to solving Chicago's budget problems. How tornado scare wiped out IndyCar’s Friday plans

RCR car sits out despite best finish in over a decade
Austin Hill wasn’t guaranteed a spot in the Chicago Street Course race, as he had to qualify against other non-chartered entries, including Corey Heim, who failed to make the field after hitting the wall. Hill not only qualified but went on to finish ninth, earning his first career top 10 in the NASCAR Cup Series. It was also the best result for Richard Childress Racing’s No. 33 car in nearly 14 years, dating back to Clint Bowyer’s sixth-place finish in 2011. The No. 33 car won’t race at Sonoma but is set to return at Richmond in August with Jesse Love driving.

Emirates GBR looks to rebound at home
Dylan Fletcher says the upcoming SailGP race in Portsmouth is a big chance for Emirates GBR to recover after poor results in San Francisco and New York. The team started the season well with strong finishes in Dubai and Auckland and a win in Australia, but recent mistakes have caused setbacks. Fletcher knows racing at home brings more pressure, but he believes the team can do well if they keep things simple and use the home crowd’s support. He’s also excited about the busy European schedule, which he hopes will help the team find their rhythm again.
