Mercedes in quiet contact with Verstappen

Mercedes and Max Verstappen's camp have recently spoken, but it's unclear whether it's about a serious move for 2026 or just keeping future options open. The talks may be more about gaining leverage; Mercedes can pressure George Russell during contract talks, while Verstappen's side can push Red Bull to improve performance and offer stronger terms. Sources say Verstappen is unlikely to leave before 2027, but he's clearly weighing his options, especially with Red Bull's uncertain future and new engine rules coming in 2026. There's also growing talk that Verstappen might take a break from F1 altogether, as he's shown signs of frustration and increasing interest in racing outside the sport.

RLL still struggling on Sundays

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing is trying to climb the IndyCar ranks by fixing past mistakes and changing their approach, especially with the help of new Team President Jay Frye. They’ve shown signs of progress in qualifying, like putting multiple drivers in the Fast Six and earning a pole with rookie Louis Foster. But their race-day results remain weak, with only one top 10 finish so far this season and poor performances on ovals. Graham Rahal says the team is finally stabilizing and building a better environment, which is starting to attract new talent and raise hopes for stronger results ahead.

Lambo and Aston close the gap at the Glen

BMW was the fastest in qualifying for the first four races of the 2025 IMSA season, but Porsche won all four races and now leads the points. Acura won the last two races, and Cadillac was close to winning both. Lamborghini and Aston Martin are new to the GTP class but are getting faster and closer to the front. At Watkins Glen, Lamborghini finished seventh despite car issues, and Aston Martin was running well before a late caution pushed them down to ninth, but both teams feel they are making good progress.

Legends of Le Mans returns

Peter Auto is launching a new racing series called Legends of Le Mans, featuring iconic LMP1, LMP2, and GTE cars from 2006 to 2016, which will appear at key FIA WEC events and the Le Mans Classic starting in 2026. The series will have a capped 34-car grid, a franchise-style entry system, and a full-season commitment from gentleman drivers only; no professionals allowed. Each race weekend will include practice, qualifying, and two 40-minute races, with light Balance of Performance rules to ensure fair competition between different cars. Interest has already exceeded expectations, and the organizers aim to offer fans an exciting and nostalgic experience with the legendary sights and sounds of endurance racing.

From pit lane to DMV

What happens when your favorite F1 drivers have to take a U.S. driving test? Let’s just say… this has nothing to do with DRS zones or safety car restarts. This is about real-world American driving, and watching these guys think they’d ace it straight away? Hilarious. Because trust me, not all of them were built for stop signs and parallel parking.
