Why Piastri won’t use McLaren’s new suspension

Oscar Piastri has explained that he hasn’t used McLaren’s new front suspension because it feels “different” rather than better, and he prefers to stick with what’s already working well for him. While Lando Norris has benefited from improved feedback and confidence with the updated suspension, Piastri says he hasn’t struggled with similar issues and doesn’t see the need to change something that’s not a clear upgrade. He enters the British Grand Prix 15 points ahead of Norris in the championship and wants to maintain consistency in his car setup. Piastri also expressed his fondness for Silverstone, calling it one of his favorite tracks and hoping to turn past success and memories there into a race win.

Foyt’s team is one of the smallest in IndyCar, but they’ve done an impressive job with limited staff and support from Penske. Now, they’re working on improving qualifying because starting so far back every race will be hard to keep overcoming.

Bearman issued a 10-place grid penalty for the British Grand Prix
