Winners and losers from COTA
Max Verstappen won the US Grand Prix and got closer to championship leader Oscar Piastri. Lando Norris finished second after a good battle against Charles Leclerc. Ferrari had a strong weekend as Leclerc took third and Hamilton took fourth. Williams, Alpine, and Sauber had a bad race and didn’t score any points.

Briscoe secures championship spot at Talladega
Chase Briscoe won the Talladega race and earned a spot in the NASCAR Championship 4. It was his third win of the year and his first ever at a superspeedway, helped by Ty Gibbs, who finished third. The race went into overtime after a late crash, and some drivers ran out of fuel. Todd Gilliland came second, and Briscoe was the only playoff driver to finish in the top ten.

Earl Bamber debuts in MX-5 cup at Martinsville
Earl Bamber, who has won Le Mans twice, will race for the first time in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup at Martinsville Speedway. He will drive car No. 31 for Hendricks Motorsports in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300. Even though Bamber has won big endurance races, he has never raced on an oval track before. The winner gets $25,000, and other drivers finishing up to tenth place also get cash prizes.

Red Bull fined for US GP rule breach
Red Bull got a €50,000 fine, half on hold, because a team member went onto the grid after the formation lap had started. Officials said this was unsafe and broke the rules. The team said the person didn’t see the marshals, but the fine stayed.
