Alexander Michael Warren Bowman is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Hendrick Motorsports, where he drives the No. 48 Chevrolet. He also owns Alex Bowman Racing, a dirt midget and sprint car team.
Bowman began racing quarter midgets in United States Auto Club (USAC) competition at the age of seven. By 2006, he had won nine national championships, and in 2009, he was named the USAC National Midget Rookie of the Year.

Working alongside his father gave him mechanical knowledge and a strong work ethic from an early age. Bowman began racing quarter midgets in 2000 at the age of seven. He competed in United States Auto Club (USAC) events across Arizona and California, and by 2006, he had won nine national championships.
In 2008, he won both the USAC National Focus Midget Championship and the California Dirt Focus Midget Championship. A year later, he was named the USAC National Midget Rookie of the Year.
