Has Leclerc lost his qualifying touch?
Charles Leclerc says he hasn't been doing a good job in qualifying this season, even though he has beaten teammate Lewis Hamilton in 9 out of 14 sessions. He's still a bit quicker on average but feels like he's not driving at his best when it matters most. Leclerc says Q3 has been the biggest problem, and even when the car is okay, he can't seem to put a perfect lap together. Ferrari's planned rear suspension upgrades may help improve balance, but the bigger question is whether Leclerc can rediscover his one-lap magic in the second half of the season.

NASCAR sits out Chicago race until 2027
NASCAR has decided to pause its Chicago Street Race now that the three-year deal with the city is over. The race will be replaced by a new street event in San Diego next season. NASCAR says it wants to bring the Chicago race back in 2027 with a shorter setup time and a better experience for fans and locals. Even though the race caused problems for some people in the city, it became more popular over time, and NASCAR plans to stay involved in the community.

Drivers slam bumpy Toronto IndyCar track
IndyCar drivers Kyle Kirkwood and Will Power said the road near Turn 3 in Toronto was very rough and even painful to drive over. The bump came from new pavement added during construction at Ontario Place. Because there are fewer support races this weekend, the track has less grip, making it harder for drivers to control their cars. Still, a big crowd showed up on Friday, with free entry and donations going to Make-A-Wish Canada.

Hall of Famer Rex White passes away at 95
Rex White, a NASCAR legend, has died at the age of 95. NASCAR shared the news on Friday but didn’t say what caused his death. White won 28 races in his career and finished in the top five 110 times. He retired in 1964 and was later added to both the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame.

WRT could replace Rahal at BMW
BMW is ending its IMSA partnership with Rahal Letterman Lanigan after a 15-year relationship and is now in talks with other teams, including Belgian squad WRT, to take over the GTP program. WRT boss Vincent Vosse confirmed they're interested and ready to join IMSA as early as next year if given the opportunity. Despite rumors that BMW might cut back or cancel its GTP effort, the company says it's still committed to racing in IMSA and is just finalizing its 2026 plans. BMW is also bringing its WEC and IMSA teams closer by sharing drivers to help improve the car.
