Stoffel Vandoorne is a Belgian racing driver who first caught global attention in 2015. He dominated the GP2 Series, the main feeder championship for Formula 1, winning the title in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. 

That success led to his Formula 1 debut with McLaren at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir on April 3, 2016, where he scored points on his first appearance. He went on to race full-time in F1 during the 2017 and 2018 seasons before gradually shifting his focus toward electric racing and endurance competition.

After showing consistency in Formula E and winning the 2021–22 Formula E World Championship with Mercedes-Benz EQ, Vandoorne entered endurance racing with Team Jota in the LMP2 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship and finished second overall in the standings. That strong result caught the attention of Peugeot, and in 2023, he officially joined Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, making his Hypercar debut at the 6 Hours of Fuji in Fuji, Japan.
