What is The 2026 Indy 500 Entry List?

*Provisional* Entry List for the 2026 Indianapolis 500

Find out which 33 drivers are set to hit the grid at the 110th running of the Indy 500. Keep in mind that there are still some names to be confirmed and this list only classifies the drivers confirmed to attempt to qualify for the event.

The Indianapolis 500, also known as The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, will be celebrating their 110th running in May of 2026. Slotting in at Round 7 of the 2026 IndyCar season, the Indy 500 is always the most highly anticipated event, not just for IndyCar fans, but for anyone who considers themselves a racing fan. Famously taking place during Memorial Day weekend, the Indianapolis 500 continues to be a staple in American racing history and one of the most notable races for the few drivers who have been able to claim the top step of the podium.

While there are still a few names yet to be confirmed, the provisional entry list stands at 32 confirmed names. This includes all 25 full-time IndyCar drivers as well as seven one-off entries specifically for this race.

Drivers to keep an eye on

Dennis Hauger, one of the three rookies to secure an IndyCar seat this season, will be a name to watch at his first Indy 500. Driving for Dale Coyne alongside Romain Grosjean, Hauger has already impressed the masses with his first few IndyCar appearances. St.Petersburg was a dominant display of his comfort in the car and around the track with the young Norwegian driver Qualifying in P3. Although he has yet to score his first points, his consistency and quick pace sets him apart as a strong contender for a promising first 500.

With the most previous starts at the Indy 500, Helio Castroneves is returning with Meyer Shank Racing to hunt down his fifth win at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Castroneves is one of four drivers to have won the event four times, being tied with A.J Foyt, Al Unser Sr., and Rick Mears. Castroneves is now on the hunt to make history and secure himself as the winningest driver in Indy 500 history, so he will definitely be a name to watch at the 110th running.

Alex Palou, racing the #10 car for Chip Ganassi is the former reigning champ at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Palou dominated in 2025 after a series of crashes, fires and exciting overtakes to come out on top and claim his first Indy 500 win, making him the first Spaniard to do so. Palou has been such a consistent driver over the past couple of seasons that it would be a disservice to count him out of the running for this years’ 500. With the pace of the Chip Ganassi and Palou’s failure to make a single mistake, he definitely will be a top contender for the 110th title.
