The 2026 Bahrain GP will be held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. If you’re planning to experience the Formula 1 action at the venue, knowing the circuit rules before you arrive will save you trouble at the gate.
Here’s what you can and can’t bring for the Bahrain race weekend, plus a few race-day essentials worth packing.
Bag Policy and Security Rules for the Bahrain GP in Malaysia
Although the race organizers have not announced a specific rule on bag sizes or material, all bags and personal belongings are subject to inspection at the gate. To be on the safe side, check our general F1 bag policy guide for an idea of the bag sizes typically allowed at races.
Security can deny you entry or remove you from the circuit if you refuse a bag inspection or are found carrying a prohibited item.
If you run into issues or simply want to store your bag, there may be limited baggage storage available at the PX Carpark located just before the Welcome Center’s main entrance. Sepang International Circuit is offering the service for the MotoGP weekend later in the month, so we believe it will be offered for the F1 weekend as well.

Water bottle - Sepang International Circuit is allowing one water bottle per person up to 20 oz (600 ml) for the MotoGP weekend later in the month. We expect the same policy to apply for Formula 1.

Race Day Essentials for the Bahrain GP
Sepang’s weather can change quickly, so come prepared for both strong sun and sudden rain. We recommend that you bring these items to make a long race day at Sepang more comfortable:

Just be sure to avoid bringing an item from the prohibited list or something that can block the view of others, such as a large umbrella.
