Red Bull locks in Verstappen for 2026 season
Max Verstappen will stay at Red Bull for the 2026 F1 season, as his contract clause allowing him to leave can no longer be used. His strong result at the Belgian Grand Prix means he can't be pushed out of the top three in the standings, which was needed to activate the clause. Even though he's been happy at Red Bull, his team had been in touch with Mercedes in case the car wasn't good enough. Despite being slightly faster overall, Norris couldn’t close the gap and had to settle for second behind his teammate. McLaren boss Andrea Stella confirmed the team was open to double-stacking, but it was Norris who opted to take a different strategy.

He shared that someone he worked with at Mercedes joined his team and helped make important changes overnight. Hamilton had trouble with new car parts and braking, while teammate Charles Leclerc handled the updates better and finished on the podium. Even though the weekend started badly, Hamilton said the car felt much better on Sunday, and he feels ready for the next race.
