Verstappen’s data hacked in FIA website breach

Three cybersecurity experts found a weakness in the FIA’s driver database that exposed private information of Max Verstappen. They did not use the data and told the FIA right away. The FIA took the site offline, fixed the problem, and told the drivers affected. This shows that even top sports organizations can have security risks.

William Sawalich to miss Martinsville Xfinity race

William Sawalich will miss Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity race at Martinsville after a crash at Talladega gave him concussion-like symptoms. Justin Bonsignore will drive his No. 18 SoundGear Toyota instead. Sawalich says he is better. He is going through NASCAR’s safety rules to return safely.

WRT to field joint WEC–IMSA crew at Rolex 24

BMW Team WRT will use a mix of its WEC crew and new U.S. hires for its first IMSA race at the 2026 Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team has a new base in North Carolina and plans to run BMW cars in both series. Boss Vincent Vosse said they want to manage both WEC and IMSA teams like Porsche Penske does. He also said it will be hard because some races in both series happen on the same weekend.

Key car rule changes for 2026

Formula 1 will bring new rules in 2026 to make cars smaller, lighter, and run on fully clean fuel. DRS will be removed and replaced with two new boost modes for more speed in corners and straights. The engines will use more electric power for better control and performance. Audi, Ford with Red Bull, and Honda will join Mercedes, Ferrari, and Renault as engine makers.

United Autosports USA back in 2026 IMSA

United Autosports USA will race in the 2026 IMSA season with two LMP2 cars. Daniel Goldburg returns for his third season after strong results in 2025. Phil Fayer, who raced part-time this year, will compete full-time next year. The team aims to perform well in the championship.
