Twelve races down, twelve races to go in a thrilling F1 Fantasy season. After several twists and turns, let's review the leaders of some key categories and discuss which assets have the right momentum heading into the Belgian Grand Prix.
Overtakes

For drivers that fail to earn championship points in a race weekend, overtakes provide a strong source of points. Haas rookie Ollie Bearman tops all drivers with 66 overtakes and is the only driver with more than 2 double digit overtake weekends (4). Kevin Magnussen, who led all drivers in overtakes last season, logged 75 overtakes by this point in his final season with Haas.
Carlos Sainz completed an impressive 55 overtakes, including a season-high 16 across the Sprint and Grand Prix in Miami. Sainz ranks 16th in total scoring because he is tied for the most DNFs on the grid with 4. Interestingly, he shares that unfortunate record with P3 on this list, Fernando Alonso.
Pit Stop Scoring

Much like overtake scoring boosts driver performances, pit stop points add extra value to constructors. Ferrari dominate this category, amassing 130 fantasy points from just pit stops. The Scuderia won 7 Fastest Pit Stop awards and vacated an 8th in China after Lewis Hamilton's car was disqualified. In the midfield, Sauber and Racing Bulls continue to serve as valuable budget options. Sauber is the only other constructor to win multiple Fastest Pit Stop awards.
For teams that can now afford four Tier A assets (e.g. Piastri, Russell, McLaren, Mercedes), consider the Silver Arrows' mediocre first half in the pits. Mercedes remain the only Tier A constructor yet to record a sub-2.20s pit stop and rank between Sauber and Alpine in this category. Ferrari's pit stops alone may inspire players to wait on the four premium asset builds.
Price Changes

The new price gain algorithm for 2025 brought larger risks and rewards for drivers. Championship leader, Oscar Piastri, leads all drivers in value gained after growing his value in the last 11 races. Nico Hulkenberg offset his losses at Bahrain, Jeddah, and Miami by gaining $0.6M in four straight. The Sauber constructor meanwhile, is riding a six-race streak of $0.6M gains. An underappreciated constructor, Haas lead all assets in value gained at $4.4M and grew by $0.6M in nine of the first twelve races!
Moving on to the bottom of the table, Carlos Sainz and Yuki Tsunoda lost value in every race so far this season. Sainz's $6.0M lost leads all assets, while Tsunoda's streak spans his tenure at Racing Bulls and Red Bull Racing.
First Half MVP

No one has benefited from the Jonathan Wheatley era at Sauber more than Nico Hulkenberg. The P16 fantasy scorer in 2024 with Haas, Hulkenberg is delivering elite value this season as the 7th highest scoring driver. He averages just 4.4 points per race fewer than Charles Leclerc!
He delivered $0.6M gains in each of the last four races, offsetting some losses he accumulated earlier in the season. Only championship leader, Oscar Piastri, has gained more value on the season. Hulkenberg particularly shines in wet conditions, amassing 20 points in a wild season opener in Australia and a personal best 48 points in the changing conditions at Silverstone.
With the top value in terms of points per million dollars of price, Hulkenberg is a must-own entering the second half.
