Oscar Piastri topped the session ahead of his McLaren teammate, Lando Norris and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly
It's the second practice session of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend here in Imola. Oscar Piastri topped FP1 ahead of Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz, showing impressive pace. Gabriel Bortoleto brought out the red flag with two minutes left in the session, ultimately ending practice slightly earlier than anticipated. Thankfully, the Brazilian driver was alright and there was limited damage to his Stake car. Find out what happened in FP2:
- Gabriel Bortoleto crashed into the barriers near the end of FP1, but his team worked hard to make sure the car was ready for FP2
- The track is starting to look quick with the drivers consistently topping each others time
- The Racing Bulls of Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar are starting to look quick ahead of the race weekend
- Hadjar has had some very impressive results so far this season
- Both of the Ferrari drivers were saying that they were struggling with their brakes
- Leclerc called his 'horrendous'
- Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have been struggling with the Ferrari and to top it off, Leclerc is coming off of a sickness as he was absent during media on Thursday
- Franco Colapinto is looking strong out on track and is clearly showing how comfortable he is in the Alpine
- Isack Hadjar had a moment in the gravel, beaching his car with six minutes left in the session
- This briefly brought out the red flag, but unlike FP1, the session was resumed for the final two minutes
- Oscar Piastri topped the session ahead of Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly
